A baby was killed in front of his mother when a suspected drink-driver swerved on to the pavement and ploughed into his pushchair. Fifteen-month-old Finlay Woods was trapped under the Toyota 4X4 while up to ten passers-by battled to lift the vehicle as his distraught mother looked on.
The youngster’s mother, Tina Woods, was on her way to collect her seven-year-old daughter, Olivia, from school when the accident happened at 3.20pm yesterday.
The driver, a mother-of-three, had been trying to stop her car being towed away when the accident happened. The 39-year-old has been charged with dangerous driving.
